Headteacher's blog - week ending 07/06/2019
07 Jun 2019
Dear Parent/Carer,
I hope you are well and had a really good week.
There were 2 cricket trips this week for the year 5 and 6 boys and girls. They had a brilliant time at the Leyton Sports Ground competing against other schools. Although the children did not come first, they came very close and put in a huge amount of effort. Well done to them!
We ended the week with a fantastic history week assembly. The theme of history week was D Day/ The children were brilliant in presenting all of the new facts they have been learning this week.
Next week is going to be a very busy one at Downsell. There are 4 sports trips planned – all for different year groups. I am very pleased that our children are becoming so active and are taking part in lots of borough wide events!
The year 1 children will be taking part in the national phonics screening check throughout the week. I wish them the very best of luck and I know that all children and staff have been working very hard in the lead up to this week.
Take care and have a good weekend. I will see you at the gates on Monday.
Mr Chetty
