Assessment:
Assessment is an important part of the teaching and learning of Computing. At Downsell Primary School, the assessment of the children’s skills and knowledge is conducted as follows:
Foundation Stage:
Nursery:
Observation based evidence such as written post its and photos form bases of assessment of ICT in Nursery. These are then collated as evidence towards the summative assessments. Assessment statements are drawn together from the Foundation Stage Curriculum under the heading Understanding the World.
Reception:
Observation based evidence such as written post its and photos form bases of assessment of ICT in Reception. These are then collated as evidence towards the summative assessments. Assessment statements are drawn together from the Foundation Stage Curriculum under the heading Understanding the World. By the end of Reception, children are emerging, expected, or exceeding in KUW based on the early learning goal.
Key Stage 1 and 2:
Assessing of pupils progress at present takes the form of continuous summative assessment. Each pupil saves samples of work into their electronic portfolio. From this portfolio teachers can judge whether a pupil has met the key skills studied.
