English - Role play

This half term in English we are learning about a narrative text called 'How to catch a star' by Oliver Jeffers. This week the children in Class Jamaica made predictions about the text based on the front cover and took part in role play. We had so much fun! The children thought really hard about how to portray the character's feelings and used different language features such as adjectives and adverbs to bring the story alive.
Once there was a boy and the boy loved stars very much...
The boy wished he had a star of his own...
"Wow, what a beautiful star!"
He dreamed how the star might be his friend and they would take long walks together.
"Trying to catch the star!"
"Yes! I've got it!"
