Its' objectives are to strengthened student's abilities in the following areas:
Personal Self-Management Skills ie: Enhance their self-esteem, develop problem solving skills and help them to reduce stress and anxiety and manage anger.
General Social Skills ie: Students gain skills to meet personal challenges such as over coming shyness, communicating clearly, building relationships, and avoiding violence.
Resistance skills ie: Students build effective defences against pressures to engage in risk taking behaviours.
Year 4 will be starting at level 1 and this programme will continue on to level 2 when they reach year 5 and level 3 when they are in year 6. Each level will be 9 sessions long and will be facilitated by trained year group teachers. A letter will be sent out to parents explaining what we will be doing, so that they will have an update on progression of the programme. At the end of the programme the children will receive a certificate of Achievement.
