Hand washing education needed

Children and young people need to be taught how to wash their hands properly to reduce the risk of infection, the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence has advised. The guidelines call for more education in nurseries, schools and universities about the importance of hand-washing. Children should be taught good hygiene, particularly after using the toilet, before eating and after being in contact with people with illnesses, while teenagers attending university should be taught how to care for themselves if they contract a "self-limiting illness" such as a cold or flu.
