Defibrillator call for schools

Defibrillator call for schools

The family of Oliver King, a boy who died from an undiagnosed heart condition in 2011, have called for defibrillators to be placed in every school. The Oliver King Foundation helped drive a change in Government policy in 2013 that saw it recommended that all schools purchase a defibrillator, but campaigners are calling for acquiring one to be obligatory. They add that, on average, 270 children a year die at school in the UK from sudden arrhythmic death syndrome.
