Accelerated Reader is a computer based programme that helps teachers support and monitor children's independent reading. It  guides readers to choose books that are matched to their reading abilities. Once they have finished reading a book matched to their level, an online quiz checks their understanding and tracks their progress to ensure they are challenged enough to improve their skills.

You can support your child at home by reading with them daily, and complete regular verbal questioning about the book, to help develop their understanding.
